Ways to Donate to FAND
The Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is a member-driven association. You can support our efforts in many ways:
Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation (FANDF)
The Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation (FANDF) offers scholarships and stipends to Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics members. They are awarded to further education, obtain certifications, gain leadership skills and involvement in professional activities. Your tax deductible donation can be directed toward a specific scholarship or may be used for general support of the Foundation. The specific scholarships include:
Sister Helen Marie Pellicer, RDN
The Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics President’s Scholarship
Anne Brezina, MEd, RDN, LDN Dietetic Intern Scholarship
Clara Augustine, MS, RDN, LDN Public Health Scholarship
Gail P. A. Kauwell, PhD, RDN, LDN, FAND Academic Excellence Scholarship
Member donations make it possible for us to support pro-nutrition candidates for state office and reach key congressional leaders. Contributions are voluntary and are NOT tax deductible. Federal law requires political action committees report the name, mailing address, occupation and name of employer for each individual. Federal law also prohibits political action committees from accepting corporate money. Therefore, checks from your business account cannot be accepted.

Donations will be used to support the ongoing work of the Florida Academy including our Advocacy Program to maintain and improve our licensure law, advance policy related to food and nutrition and conduct an annual Legislative Workshop; website enhancement to inform our members and the public about FAND current events, mini symposiums addressing “hot” topics in nutrition practice throughout the year; publication of our Manual of Medical Nutrition Therapy, a nutrition resource used nationally; and the production of our quarterly newsletter, the FAND Focus, promoting member news and a means for outreach for our community partners, and the annual FAND Food and Nutrition Symposium.
